The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to raise funds for awareness, early detection and research of esophageal cancer in hopes of a cure.™  www.salgi.org

The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation was established in remembrance of our beloved family member. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, godfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and in his later years, a brave soldier against his battle with esophageal cancer.

When our loved one was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 1997, we did not know what esophageal cancer was or what was happening to our father.   Not only did we have to face the grim reality that our beloved family member was diagnosed with cancer but we had no where to turn for information about this horrifying disease.

After a little over a year of pain, struggle and suffering; his 'golden heart stopped beating and his hard working hands were at rest.'

We realized that there were many other families who felt the same heartache, uncertaintly, hopelessness and fear due to this horrific diesease. The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation was established in honor of all the men and women who have been affected by esophageal cancer.  Our mission is to raise awareness, encourage early detection and to fund research of esophageal of esophageal cancer...in hopes of a cure.
